Dr. Krish Prabhu, CEO, Tellabs
Transforming Telecom networks for Tomorrow’s needs

Krish A. Prabhu, 53, is CEO and President of Tellabs and a member of the board of directors.
Prior to joining Tellabs in 2004, Prabhu was a venture partner at Morgenthaler Ventures from 2001 until 2004. While at Morgenthaler, he was involved with the funding and development of several private companies in Communications and Information Technology. As an investing partner, he served on the boards of Yotta Networks, Westwave Communications, Overture Networks and Catena Networks.

Previously, Prabhu served as chief operating officer of Alcatel Telecom from 1999-2001 and as chief executive officer of Alcatel USA from 1997-1999. Prior to this, he served in various senior management positions within Alcatel. Prabhu joined Alcatel in 1991 through its acquisition of Rockwell’s Network Transmission Division. In 1984, Prabhu joined Rockwell International’s network transmission division, where he served in various positions in research and development and management. He began his telecommunications career in 1980 at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a member of the technical staff.

Prabhu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Bangalore University in India, and a Master of Science degree in physics from the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, India. He also holds a Master of Science degree and a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

He has served on the boards of Agere, ECI Telecom and Symmetricom. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Visitors, School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh.

Prabhu and his wife reside in the Dallas area and have three children.

Subbu is Senior Vice President – Telecom & Product Engineering Services Business vertical of Wipro Technologies.

Telecom & Product Engineering Services is a division of Wipro Limited with sales of $3.4 billion and focus in providing software services and products to clients all over the world. Wipro is the largest Product engineering services companies in the world.

Subbu joined Wipro in 1983 from Central University campus, focusing on Operating Systems for x86 based mini computers. He worked extensively on various Operating Systems and played a key role in developing computing platforms for Indian domestic market. He was one of the pioneers in starting up the first Offshore development center for Tandem in 1994 and was heading it for more than six years. In 2000, he took the leadership role for building engineering business in Broadband Networks technology for Wipro. In this role he expanded the business significantly and created many Intellectual Property components to develop competencies and give time-to-market advantage to various customers. Under his leadership group has grown to over 2500 people with customer relations in US, Europe, Japan.

In the current role he handles 4500+ strong Telecom Engineering solutions business of Wipro Technologies which provides engineering services to Telecom Equipment vendors and Semiconductor vendors.

Steve Vandris is the Vice President of Business Development, Asia Pacific for the Network and Storage Products Group of LSI Corporation. LSI is a leading provider of innovative silicon, systems and software technologies that enable products which seamlessly bring people, information and digital content together.

Prior to his current role, Vandris was the Marketing Director for Networking Products at Agere Systems China. Before coming to Agere, he was the Director of Internet Infrastructure BU at Texas Instruments and held senior technical and marketing positions at AT&T Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies.

Vandris received his BS in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sussex, UK, and MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA.
