ANTS 2007 will be held in the F.C. Kohli Auditorium at IIT Bombay on Dec 17, 18, 2007. ANTS 2007 will be located in Mumbai, formerly called Bombay on the western coast of India


About Mumbai



Mumbai is a collection of 7 islands reclaimed to form one unified landmass of about 60 km length and is about 15 km wide. It is serviced by all major airlines from Europe, North America and Asia Pacific region. The city of Mumbai is known as the financial as well as entertainment capital of India. It contributes to about 60+% in terms of national tax earning as well as is home to a large number of business houses amongst which are the Tatas, Reliance etc. The city of Mumbai also has two excellent research institutions - the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).


Getting there (from any country in the world)


  • From the US: Non-stop direct flights by Delta (Delta16/17), Air India and Jet Airways are available daily from JFK. All other major US cities have flights to Mumbai (Airport Code BOM). All European carriers (Lufthansa, British Airways, KLM , Air France ) service all major US cities and have daily connections to Bombay.

  • From the UK: As many as 8 non-stop flights run between London Heathrow (LHR) and Bombay (BOM), including 2 by British Airways, 2 by Virgin Atlantic, 2 by Jet Airways and others.

  • From Europe: All major European cities fly non-stop to Bombay. These non-stop flights include: Lufthansa from Frankfurt, KLM from Amsterdam, Alitalia from Milan, Air France from Paris, Aeroflot flies non-stop from Moscow.

  • From the Middle East: Most of the middle eastern nations have direct and daily flights to Mumbai. These include: El Al from Tel Avis, Gulf Air, Emirates, Turkish Airways from Istanbul and Kuwait Air.

  • From Asia Pac: A wide range of choice is available from the Pan Asian region: Air India services China, while China Airlines has code sharing agreement with several carriers. Thai Airlines from Bangkok, Cathay Pacific from Hongkong, Malaysian Airlines, and Air India service Japan. Qantas has three flights in a week non-stop to Sydney and Singapore Airlines has 2 flights in a day non-stop to Singapore.

    Getting from the airport to the conference


    The conference registration includes a free pick up from the airport to any hotel within Mumbai on the 15th and 16th of December. To avail this service please send an email to registrations@antsconference.org with your full name, organization name and registration details (confirmation number) and arrival details (flight number, date). A chauffeur will pick you outside the airport just after you clear customs. Look for your name on a white placard.


    Currency


    Local currency is rupees (INR). All major credit cards (Visa, MC, Ammex) are accepted by vendors. Gratuity is not typically included in a check. Tips typically do not exceed 10% of the total amount.
